On May 10th a road was washed out that crosses a stream feeding Wilson Lake. A beaver dam had plugged the culvert and the pond this created over ran the road during one of our many rain events. Tons of sand and gravel and sticks and leaves were washed into the lake. Secchi readings have become our worst ones ever recorded. In order to prevent an algae bloom this summer the dam was re-opened to flush the lake. Therefore, water levels may be lower than usual. WLA will monitor the Secchi readings and other values and replace the dam boards when it is prudent to do so. For more information see Wilson Lake Association on Facebook.
