Road Commissioner David Winchell Jr. and his crew have replaced the old dam and culverts on Youngs’ Ridge Road with new construction. The work was complicated by the difficulty of blocking the lake water and a major storm. However, with patience and perseverance, the crew was able to remove the rotted culverts and old dam and replace them in one day. Both sides of the road have been heavily armored with rip-rap to stabilize the shoreline. After the dirt has a chance to settle, the disturbed road will be re-paved and plans are in place to mechanize the gate of the dam.
