Remember that it is necessary to obtain a fire permit for all burning. Did you know you can get a seasonal campfire permit from any member of the Acton Fire Department? You must have a safe, contained place for your campfire and use careful planning before lighting your fire. Fire can spread underground via roots of trees and bushes! And windy days or during drought periods would be dangerous times to have any kind of fire.
For burning yard waste and brush you must obtain a permit on the day of the intended fire. You may get this at the Acton Trading Post on Route 109 or from a Fire Department member.
