On the Plant Patrol? Or interested in learning about our aquatic plants? Mark your calendar for Monday, August 14th. From 9:00 am to 11:30 am we will be guided by Laurie Callahan of the York County Invasive Aquatic Species Project as we search the canal from the public boat ramp to the main body of the lake.

Laurie is an expert at identifying aquatic species and is very helpful to local lakes as homeowners learn to identify plants always searching for invasive species which can destroy the recreational, environmental and financial elements of being a lakefront owner.

It is up to all of us to protect our lake and we need your help! If you can join us please respond to Jeanne at jach28@gmail.com or call 207-477-0310.

Meet at the boat ramp at 9:00. Kayaks and canoes or other low vessels are best for plant searching. I have several view scope available. Just let me know you’d like to use one and we’ll make arrangements. Polarized sunglasses and visored caps help and sunscreen is a must!

And thanks for caring about Wilson Lake!
